This week we celebrate Health Center Staff Appreciation Week at PACE-RI. Thank you to all the medical assistants, centralized schedulers, medical records clerks, administrative assistants, and managers who support our PACE-RI health centers, which ensure that our older adults have the routine medical support they need to manage multiple chronic conditions!

The lieutenant governor is a member of the Advisory Council on Alzheimer's Disease Research and Treatment, which launched the 2024-2029 Alzheimer's State Plan during a conference at PACE-RI.

It's been a while since we've refreshed our billboards on Wampanoag Trail. We're proud to share our new designs!

We've kept the message simple. One side of the billboard sums up the support we provide to older adults: "Comprehensive care for aging well."

The other side highlights the reason our staff love working at PACE-RI: "Be the reason someone thrives."

That's a wrap on Shark Week! Resident Experiences Coordinator Kriss Auger continued a fin-tastic annual tradition of making the rounds through our East Providence day center in an inflatable shark costume.

Thank you to Lt. Governor candidate Sue AnderBois for Rhode Island and campaign manager Kalliana Marek for visiting PACE-East Providence today!

We have invited each candidate running for lieutenant governor to visit our center to speak to prospective voters. One responsibility of the lieutenant governor is overseeing the Long Term Care Coordinating Council, which develops policies around long-term health care for older adults.

As an organization that supports older Rhode Islanders, we know how important accessibility is for community spaces.

The RI Governor’s Commission on Disabilities - GCD is looking for volunteers to survey polling places to ensure that they are free of barriers that would prevent someone with a disability from voting. More details are below.

𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀.

The Rhode Island Governor’s Commission on Disabilities is recruiting volunteers to help identify potential accessibility barriers at polling places during the 2026 statewide elections.

Volunteer polling-place monitors will complete a brief accessibility survey during either:

Statewide Primary: September 9, 2026
Statewide General Election: November 3, 2026

Each survey takes approximately 15 minutes and may be completed at any time during Election Day using either an online or printed form. The information collected helps the Commission work with local Boards of Canvassers to address barriers and strengthen access for future voters. Volunteers must attend a GCD Polling Monitor Training.
