Since 1948, Hattie Ide Chaffee has operated as a nonprofit facility, becoming a leader in service to our elderly community and a dependable resource to families on the East Bay and beyond. 🍋 Lemonade Stand at Hattie!
Our residents soaked up some sunshine on the back patio today, and let’s just say, Abraham had the cutest trick up his sleeve. He drew a lemonade stand right on the window with window markers, opened it up, and served fresh-squeezed lemonade straight through! It was the most charming makeshift lemonade stand we’ve ever seen. 🪟✨ We clipped some beautiful roses straight from our garden for everyone to smell, and tucked one right into each lady’s hair. 🌹 Simple moments, made sweet. That’s the Hattie way. 💛

We can’t tell you how much we love patio season! ☀️ Soaking up the sun, sipping lemonade, playing games, blowing bubbles, laughing, and being just a little silly together, there is nothing quite like it. Blue skies, a nice breeze, and great friends. It really doesn’t get much better than this. 🫧🍋

🌿🦒 What an incredible day at Hattie Ide Chaffee! 🦁🌸
Yesterday we had the honor of hosting “At the Zoo”- an NGC Horticulture Specialty Flower Show, presented by the RI Judges Council, and it was wonderful! Our home was transformed into a showcase of creativity, color, and a horticultural wonder.
Congratulations to every single exhibitor who placed in the show. From first place blue ribbons to second, third, and honorable mention, every entry was a testament to the talent and dedication of our incredible garden club community! And did you notice who won a blue ribbon for their geranium?🎀🏆
We are so grateful to everyone who came to join us!💚
A big thank you to and the RI Judges Council for bringing this beautiful show to our home. We are so proud to be a member club and to open our doors to events like this that bring so much joy, beauty, and connection to our residents and the community.

We are thrilled to recognize Ava Nunez as our June Employee of the Month!
Ava has been a valued member of our dietary team here at Hattie Ide Chaffee Home for nearly four years. As a dietary aide, she brings dedication, warmth, and a genuine love of caring for others to everything she does. Ava is always willing to lend a hand, pick up a shift, and show up for her peers and residents with kindness and compassion.
Outside of work, Ava is pursuing her studies in Criminal Justice at Rhode Island College. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and soaking up some beach days.
Ava, thank you for being such a bright and dependable presence on our team. We are so proud to celebrate you this month! 🎉

What a wonderful day at Hattie!☀️
Today was full of new faces, big smiles, and so much joy. We are thrilled to welcome two summer interns through Brown University iProv Fellowship Program. Roma and Selena are already off to a fantastic start, and we couldn’t be more excited to have them with us this season! 🎓✨
We also want to give a very special welcome to Lilly, who is joining us as a part-time Life Enrichment Assistant. She has the most beautiful spirit, and we already adore her. 💛
To round out this beautiful day, we dove into collaging and summer watercolors! 🎨🌸
Here’s to a summer full of art, laughter, and wonderful new friendships. Welcome, Roma, Selena, and Lilly-,we are so glad you’re here!

🎂✨ Happy 102nd Birthday to our beautiful Ethel!
Ethel is one of those quiet souls who fills every interaction with sweetness and kindness. She loves her family deeply, and she cherishes having her sister by her side. Today, her loving family came in to help her celebrate this incredible milestone, and it was such a special day!
A heartfelt thank you to her daughter Donna for bringing in the most beautiful spread and a gorgeous cake to share with everyone. Donna, you are such a wonderful daughter, and it shows!

Just a few days ago our rose garden was all buds… and then just like magic, we have a beautiful sea of roses! 🌹✨
With 50 different varieties, our rose garden is something special. We have a few bushes already in full bloom, and the rest are not far behind. We expect the whole garden to peak within the next week or two.
We would love for you to come by and see it for yourself! 🌸
