💜 You Are Not Alone in This Journey 💜
This past Saturday night at 8:30 PM, I received a call from a daughter-in-law who was overwhelmed and emotional. She was caring for her mother-in-law at home, but things had reached a point where she knew she could no longer safely manage everything on her own.
Her mother-in-law had recently wandered out the front door and experienced a fall. She wasn't sleeping, and the family was seeing increased sundowning and challenging behaviors associated with her dementia.
We talked. She cried. And most importantly, I reminded her that she was not alone.
Sometimes families don't need someone to simply tell them what to do. They need someone to listen, understand what they are going through, and help them find a safe path forward.
We discussed options close to their home, including local Memory Care communities that are equipped to support individuals with dementia and behavioral challenges. We provided several options for the family to consider, and today, we will be joining them on tours so they don't have to navigate this process alone.
This is what we do at CarePatrol of the Inland Empire, Foothills & Redlands. We help families understand their options, connect them with appropriate care, and walk alongside them during some of the most difficult transitions.
If you're caring for a parent or loved one and you're feeling overwhelmed, please know that asking for help does not mean you've failed. It means you care enough to find the right support. 💜
You don't have to figure it all out by yourself. We're here to help.
