How are you growing and learning? When did you last take time to reflect on your own progress?
I love helping people see their growth! It's amazing to see a couple push through a hard conversation, knowing this is new for them. I will stop and say something like "you're doing great! This is hard and you're doing it! Could you have had that conversation when we first met?" Often the answer is no, they weren't having this type of conversation when we first met. And then we celebrate their growth together.
We humans are not always good observers of ourselves and need someone else to hold up a mirror and show us that we're growing. I love doing this for people!
Recently I had an amazing experience with a client. We cried together as we realized that a situation that at first was intimidating, anxiety provoking, and brought up fears about not belonging is now that person's favorite place to be.
Stop right now. Think about where you were 2 years ago, or 5, or 10. Where did you live? What was happening in your life? Think about all you've learned and lived through from then to now.
