This patient presented to the office requiring reconstruction after a dermatology colleague removed a skin cancer from his ear. To achieve the best outcome, Dr. Allak utilized a postauricular flap - a portion of skin and tissue was transferred to the defect but left partially connected to it’s origin. This will help the tissue establish blood flow from where it will end up while retaining blood flow from where it came. Flaps like this often required two surgeries: one to create the flap, and a second to separate it and fully reconstruct the ear. While these grafts may mean a patient undergoes additional surgery, they can promote positive results to restore as much normalcy as possible to affected areas!

Reconstruction is done within days of having a spot of cancer removed by a dermatologist and carefully catered to each patients needs. Before & only ONE MONTH post for this patient of ours! One month post rhinoplasty is still VERY early in the recovery process - but her results have already begun to reveal themselves and we are loving it!! Combining dorsal hump reduction, tip elevation, and refinement, Dr. Allak crafted a nose that fits her features beautifully and we can’t wait to see how it improves as time goes on.
