Does the population you work with have a high risk of falls? The course “Physical Therapist-Led Falls Prevention: Evidence, Barriers, and Opportunities in Community-Based Care” focuses on identifying and addressing balance impairments and fall risk in community-dwelling adults, emphasizing the physical therapist’s role in early detection and prevention. It reviews evidence-based falls prevention strategies and highlights how PTs can assess balance deficits, use standardized measures, evaluate risk factors, and design individualized interventions to promote safe aging at the APTA Michigan conference in Kalamazoo.
