Congratulations to Sara Patterson, PhD, who has received a Career Development Award from Research to Prevent Blindness. She is using specialized adaptive optics imaging and electrophysiology to investigate the mechanism of optokinetic nystagmus (OKN), a reflexive eye movement that stabilizes vision during head and body movements. Patterson will systematically examine how retinal and cortical direction selectivity integrate in the nucleus of the optic tract. We can't wait to see the results of all your great research!

Thank you to everyone who was involved in our vision screenings yesterday at the Strong Museum of Play. It takes a village for events like this, and we are so grateful to everyone who played a part. Special shout out to our event partners, the The Strong Museum and CooperVision USA for all their help and support. We'll be back at the museum next month for another round of screenings. Stay tuned!
