This month, we are shining a spotlight on someone who brings warmth, dedication, and just the right amount of sunshine to our team every single day. Meet Millie McCoy, one of our incredible Registered Behavior Technicians! 🌟

Millie's journey to Chrysalis began with a family she nannied for that included two autistic boys. That experience lit a spark. "They inspired me to dig deeper and be the front line support," she shared. After months of thoughtful research, she took the leap and joined us, and we are so glad she did.

"It is mind blowing and jaw dropping, just pure joy."

That is how Millie describes the feeling of watching a child reach a milestone she helped them work toward. She defines growth in the most beautiful way: "The littlest things no longer need to be shaped." Her proudest moment? Reaching a breakthrough in building connection with a client who was difficult to pair with.

What keeps Millie going at work is the team around her. She values the responsiveness and support of her colleagues, noting that if someone cannot help, they will immediately find someone who can. That is GROW in action.

Outside the clinic, Millie loves exploring with her daughter, catching live music, and yes, she plays the clarinet! If a song played every time she walked in the door, it would be "Pocket Full of Sunshine" and honestly, that tracks perfectly.

Looking ahead, Millie hopes to pursue a Forensic Behavior Analyst program and dreams of one day creating a sports program that helps kids interact, build teamwork, and grow in confidence. Big goals, big heart.

Millie, thank you for the love and commitment you bring to every child and family at Chrysalis. We are so lucky to GROW with you. 💚

Today, we attended a very special high school graduation. Fourteen years ago, a family walked through Chrysalis Autism Center’s doors seeking support for their child. Like many families, they didn’t know exactly what the future would hold. They simply knew their doctor had recommended ABA therapy, and the journey began.

Together, the family and Chrysalis spent countless hours building language and behavioral skills. Shaping those “getting ready to learn” skills. Building success for the next step in the journey.

When it was time to transition to school, the family continued to passionately advocate for their child. Always thankful for the foundation that had been built through early intensive behavioral intervention.

Today, we were honored to be a part of the next step in this family’s journey. As adulthood approaches we are grateful to have played a small role along the way.

🔅South Carolina’s H.3974 has officially passed — creating a clearer path for private ABA providers to deliver medically necessary autism services in public schools. This expands access, strengthens parent rights, and increases collaboration between schools and providers.

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We also hold close the families who continue forward carrying their love, sacrifice, and memories every day.
