🤎 Wellness Wednesday 🤎

Some people find peace at the beach. Others find it in the mountains.

Ava finds hers in the barn. 🐴

Whether she’s grooming, feeding, mucking stalls, or simply spending time with the horses, she’s happiest when she’s surrounded by them. And judging by this perfectly clean stall… we’d say she takes her job pretty seriously! 👏✨

There’s something special about caring for animals. It teaches responsibility, patience, hard work, and a heart that serves others before yourself.

Sometimes the best kind of wellness isn’t found in slowing down, it’s found in doing what you love.

🐴 Mane Character Monday! 🤎

Meet Sammy 🐴

Born: April 21, 2004

Sammy is a Certified National Spotted Saddle Horse and the gentle giant of our herd.

In his younger years, Sammy lived with a family who had several young boys. We’ve been told that he “raised them,” patiently carrying them through countless adventures and helping them grow in confidence. Later, he made his way to our area, where he quickly became best friends with Piper, a friendship that continues today.

Around Peaceful Pastures, we lovingly call him “Big Man Sam.” He is the quiet, steady leader of the herd and a true gentleman. You’ll often find him peacefully grazing in the backyard, content to stay close to home. He never wanders off because he knows he is safe, cared for, and deeply loved.

Sammy has a special place in his heart for children. In fact, he often listens better to them than he does to adults! His calm, patient nature makes him a favorite among many who visit the farm.

Now for one of Sammy’s less dignified qualities...he is an incredibly messy eater! We affectionately call him “Messy Marvin.” After mealtime, his muzzle is usually covered in green alfalfa. If you get too close before he cleans up, don’t wear your favorite shirt; you’ll probably leave with a little green reminder of your visit!

But what makes Sammy truly remarkable is his sensitivity to people. He has an incredible ability to recognize when someone is hurting. Time and time again, we’ve watched him quietly walk over to a person who is sad or overwhelmed and gently rest his face against their belly, almost as if to say, “I see you. You’re not alone.” It is one of the many ways God uses Sammy to bring comfort and peace to those who visit Peaceful Pastures.

Sweet Sammy boy, we are so grateful for you.
