Tie-dye was a blast! We made scrunchies, head bands and back packs for residents who needed something to wear for Spirit Week and have started creating items to sell at the November bazaar. It was a huge success, with many residents joining in the fun. We enjoyed a lovely time outside in the courtyard.

Operation Education is coming to Morrow Heights! We’ll be giving out 100 goodie bags to help students get ready for elementary school, and Meadow the Fairy will be there with giant bubbles. Join the fun this Thursday, August 20th, from 12–2 p.m.

Did someone say karaoke lunch at Morrow Heights? Our residents and staff teamed up for songs, dancing, and plenty of laughter. Some staff even made a quick getaway before we could convince them to grab the mic! At our Assisted Living Community in Rogue River, we love creating joyful moments together. We ended the event with a group sing-along where everyone knew the words, then made a special visit to a resident who couldn’t attend so staff could serenade her with a private performance. We sure know how to have fun!

We had a wonderful time celebrating National S’mores Day. Gathered around the table like family, we took turns roasting s’mores, sharing stories, and laughing about our favorite memories. A few residents even said they had never tried a s’more before, proving that even in assisted living, there is always a first time for everything.

National Watermelon Day Celebration

National Watermelon Day was a fun and refreshing celebration. We gathered in the shade, enjoyed the afternoon together, and held a lively watermelon-eating contest.

Contest highlights:
• Participants had three minutes to eat as many watermelon slices as they could.
• Frank took first place after eating eight slices.
• Staff joined in as well, with Shauna and Dori tying for first place among staff after eating four slices each.

Fun fact: The record for the most watermelon eaten in three minutes is 2,760 grams, which is roughly 7 to 11 standard slices.

Our BBQ Appreciation Event was a success! Thank you to everyone who came out to join in the fun and shenanigans, including Riverside Home Health, Sunshine In-Home Care, Accent Home Health, the Rogue River Chief of Police, and our wonderful residents, families, and friends. We enjoyed delicious kabobs, pasta salad, and watermelon on a beautiful day, with a front-row seat as our Dietary Director worked the BBQ. The whole Morrow Heights team came together with joy and gratitude to serve our community. Thank you for making it such a memorable day!

Car Wash and Ice Cream Social

We hosted a car wash followed by an ice cream social, giving residents’ walkers, wheelchairs, and scooters a thorough deep clean. The event offered a practical way to help residents keep their mobility equipment clean and refreshed. It also brought everyone together for a fun activity and a delicious treat afterward.

A small group enjoyed lunch in the park, taking in the fresh air and views at Palmerton Park. They soaked up the Vitamin D and were grateful the smoke had finally cleared from our little town.
