Barbara Singer-Santoro

Barbara Singer-Santoro, age 82, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, with her loving husband by her side.

Barbara was born on August 27, 1943, in Pinckney, Michigan, to James and Geraldine Singer.

On December 27, 1962, she married the love of her life, Tony Santoro. Together they shared 63 years of marriage and built a life centered on family, friendship, and devotion. They spent most of their lives in Michigan, where they raised their two children, Anthony Jr. "Tony Jr" and Crissy. Tragically, Tony Jr. passed away as a young adult due to a health condition. In 2015, Barbara and Tony moved to Roosevelt, Utah, to be closer to family.

Barbara cherished spending time outdoors camping and fishing with family and friends. She loved playing the accordion, trying her luck at gambling, and cheering on Michigan football. She was talented with crafts and especially enjoyed quilting and crocheting. One of her favorite creations was making calendars from yarn and plastic canvas, which she lovingly shared with friends and family. Barbara and Tony also enjoyed traveling together, especially their trips to Las Vegas. She was a member of the Catholic Church.

For the past eight years, Barbara was a resident of The Villa, where she formed many meaningful friendships with both residents and staff. She never missed a game of BINGO and enjoyed playing UNO, Yahtzee, and working on puzzles with her husband. Tony visited Barbara nearly every day, and together they treasured the friendships and sense of community they found there.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband, Tony Santoro of Roosevelt; her daughter, Crissy (Dave) Knibbe of Vernal, Utah; her siblings, John (Ranae) Singer of Pinckney, Michigan; Marilyn (George) Williams of Howard City, Michigan; David (Cheryl) Singer of Lansing, Michigan; and Jim (Sue) Singer of Brighton, Michigan. She is also survived by her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Anthony Santoro Jr.; and her brothers, Don Singer and Robert Singer.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff and residents of The Villa for the years of care, friendship, kindness, and support they provided to Barbara, particularly Sherry Bird, Holly Potter, and Michelle Stevens for going above and beyond.

A private Celebration of Life was held at The Villa on June 12, for family and friends.

In accordance with her wishes, Barbara was cremated and will be laid to rest in Michigan near her son.

Freddie Nye

Watch the Live-Stream of the Funeral Service HERE.

Freddie Diane Fuelling Nye, age 76, of Altamont, peacefully passed away on May 27, 2026 surrounded by her family, after a brief bout of cancer.

She was born June 6, 1949 in the Park City Miner's Hospital to Ernest and Vieno Kangas Fuelling. Mom was born and raised in Park City and was proud to be a true Parkite. She married her sweetheart, Tom Nye, on August 10, 1967 and enjoyed being a wife, homemaker and mom. Tom died August 12, 2022. She lived for her family, and was a dedicated mother who always put her family first. She was truly happiest when she could get everyone together. She was thrilled when she became a grandma and even more thrilled when she became a great-grandma. She sure loved the babies.

Freddie was one of the most friendly and social people your could ever meet. She would visit with anyone and everyone no matter where she was. A simple grocery trip usually took at least an hour because she knew almost everyone there and had to say, “Hi.” She worked at the Midway Mercantile, Carolyn's Frozen Yogurt, Maverick and as a clerical secretary in her early years.

She enjoyed being outside watching her humming birds, listening to her wind chimes and drinking coffee. She attended the Park City Alumni Banquets faithfully, enjoyed getting together at family reunions, going to Wendover and so much more.

Freddie is survived by her children, Tom (Tera) Nye, Jeffrey Shane Nye, Tawnya (Frank) Fowler, Kara (Cody) Maxfield; sisters, Eunice Green, Wanda McDonald; sisters-in-law, Mary (Wes) Sweat, Kay Geddes; brother-in-law, Martin Kovick; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life of 55 years Tom Nye; her parents; in-laws, Erycel & Clara Nye; grandsons, Taygen Nye, Colson Smith; siblings, Ernie, Iclea, Karen; siblings-in-law, Allen, Norma, Jessie, Shirlene and Susan.

Our family would like to give a big thank you to all the staff and the residents at The Villa for the love and care they gave Mom the last year and a half.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Altamont Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There will be a viewing on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary in Roosevelt, and on Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.

Burial will be in the Tabiona Cemetery.
