Susan Louise Thomas Nielsen, age 81, of Myton, passed away on August 24, 2026 with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Myton Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A viewing will be held that morning from 9:30 - 10;45 AM. Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.

Randy "Skeeter" Ivie

Randy Wayne Ivie, age 72, of Duchesne, passed away August 23, 2026, at his home surrounded by family.

Randy, affectionately known as Skeeter, was born April 21, 1954, in Duchesne, Utah, to Glen and Elva Ivie. He was number 6 of 10 children in a family where hard work, loyalty, and love were a way of life. Being raised along the Strawberry River developed his love of the outdoors. He loved to hunt and spent the majority of his life hunting the hills of Lake Canyon.

Skeeter was a true cowboy. He spent years riding bulls and living the rodeo life. He wasn’t afraid of much. Getting on the back of a bull was just another challenge he was willing to take on. He also loved race horses and spent many years as a jockey. He raced chariots and loved the thrill of the race track.

He shared a deep and enduring love with his wife, Cherrie Ingram. Joined in marriage on October 8, 1976, at the Little House of Flowers in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they built a life raising their three sons. Skeeter cherished the thought of reaching their 50th wedding anniversary and celebrating five decades of marriage held a special place in his heart.

He was a tease to everyone he met. He carried that playful spirit throughout his life. He had a quick wit and was always ready with a smart remark. He loved giving people a hard time, especially those he was closest to.

Skeeter worked the majority of his life in construction as a heavy equipment operator. He took great pride in hard work and was well known for being an expert in the field. He had an eye for work that few could match. He took pride in doing things right and was the kind of man others could depend on when the job needed to be done.

He loved running the family farm back along the Strawberry River. He was a proud cattle rancher and spent countless hours watering, hauling hay, working cattle, and doing whatever needed done. Some of his happiest memories were made there working alongside his sons and brothers.

He was a proud grandpa to his 10 grandchildren. He loved watching them grow and supporting them in everything they did. Whether he was teasing them, teaching them, or working alongside them, his grandchildren always knew how much they meant to him.

Randy is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Cherrie; children, Randy Glen (Shara) Ivie; Wade Jesson (Nicole) Ivie, all of Duchesne; Michael Joseph (McKenzie) Ivie, Altamont; grandchildren, Brodie (Rafaela), Jayden, Addison, Braylen, Saryn, Shaylee, Weston, Brixten, Tayzlee, Indee; great-granddaughter, Everleigh; siblings, Ron Ivie, Benjamin, UT; Rex Ivie, Rock Springs, WY; Joyce (Garrold) Larsen, Roosevelt; Judy (Terry) Wolfe, Tooele; Richard (Tammy) Ivie, Duchesne; Roland (Lara) Ivie, Hayden, UT; sister-in-law, Linda Ivie, Bridgeland; brother-in-law, Dennis Putnam, Tooele; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, JoAnn Coil and her husband, Dewane; a brother, Robert Ivie, and a sister, Jenette Putnam.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Centennial Events Center in Duchesne. Viewings will be held at the same location on Sunday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 PM and Monday from 9:30 - 10:45 AM.

Burial will be in the Strawberry Cemetery.

Kathleen Wilkerson

Kathleen RoseMarie Wilkerson, age 67, of Roosevelt, passed away August 28, 2026 at her home after a long illness.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Roosevelt Central Park Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 32 S State Street, Roosevelt, UT. There will be a viewing at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service.

Following the service, per her wishes, she will be cremated and the cremated remains buried in the Myton Cemetery.

LuDean Pehrson

LuDean Pehrson, age 96, formerly of Logan, Utah, passed into eternity on the morning of August 19, 2026, from natural causes. She was the mother of four of which only two survive her.

She was an only child born to Martin Elmer Naef and Leah Partington in March of 1930. She was raised in Logan Utah and at the age of 19 married Edwin Pehrson in the Logan Temple on September 1, 1950. They built a home next door to the home LuDean grew up in and in which Elmer and Leah still resided. LuDean worked as a telephone operator most of her life, while raising the couple's three children. LuDean was loved by everyone that was blessed to know her and was affectionately called "Lou" by Ed and the extended family and close friends. She nurtured her children well and always supported them in their endeavors. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life and worked tirelessly to keep her home as a sanctuary for her family. She was very proud of her ancestral history and was a long-time participating member of The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers organization. LuDean never complained about anything and was never known to utter an unkind word or criticism about anyone.

LuDean loved the simple beauty of life, and especially flowers. She loved to garden and did a lot of home canning each year. Chokecherries (picked wild) and plumbs and raspberries (home grown) she preserved (using her mom's recipe) were among the family favorites. LuDean was readily accepted into the Pehrson family and was considered a sister to her husband's siblings and a daughter to her husband's parents. She outlived them all. Her final years were lived in Roosevelt, Utah as a resident of a nursing home following a debilitating stroke in 2020. Ed passed shortly thereafter in early 2021. LuDean moved from Logan to Roosevelt to be near remaining family.

LuDean is survived by two sons, Steve (Kami) and Scott (Mamiko); seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Sidney, and a daughter, Susan.

There will be a graveside service on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Logan City Cemetery.

Gerald A. Meyers

Gerald Allen Meyers, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, in Tabiona, Utah, at the age of 82.

Gerald was born on October 31, 1943, and grew up in Hinsdale, Massachusetts. He was the third-born of five children, growing up alongside his brothers and sister. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Following his military service, Gerald built a career as an airplane mechanic for United Airlines. His work with United relocated him and his family to Sandy, Utah, where he resided for most of his years. Eventually, he was able to permanently move to his favorite place, Tabby Mountain, where he found the peace, beauty, and outdoor life he loved so much.

Gerald found great joy in the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers, and watching birds and animals, taking pleasure in observing the wildlife and beauty around him. He was also an avid card player and enjoyed the laughter, friendly competition, and time spent with family and friends around the table. And if you knew Gerald, you knew his love for Patsy Cline. Her music held a special place in his heart, and she was always his favorite.

To his grandchildren, Gerald was simply “Poppie.” The name became a part of who he was and a name that will forever carry the warmth and love they felt for him. Poppie was a wonderful storyteller and a true baby whisperer. He always seemed to have a story to tell and a lap ready for the little ones to climb up onto. His grandchildren could sit beside him and listen to one of his many tales, creating memories they will carry with them for years to come. And somehow, Poppie often became the one trusted to settle the babies down for a nap or bedtime. There was something about his voice, his stories, and his comforting presence that could make even the fussiest little one feel safe and sleepy.

Above all, Gerald treasured his family. He is survived by his children, Kimberly Gauthier, Lori (Doug) Davis, and Peggy Meyers; his grandchildren, Jaimie (Matthew), Jeremy (Lauren), Amanda (Cory), Troy, Tynan (Kylie), Samantha, Zach (Rae), Megan, and Ella (Coleman); and his great-grandchildren, Connor, Keegan, Niclas, Reagan, Theo, and Beau. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert (Marnie) Meyers, Donald (Judy) Meyers, and Sandra Matthews; his sister-in-law, Regina Meyers; and many nieces and nephews who will carry his memory with them.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Emilie Meyers; his brother, Thomas Meyers; his brother-in-law, Dave Matthews; and his grandson, Trevor Davis.

Gerald will be remembered for the life he lived, the adventures he enjoyed, the stories he shared, and the memories he created with those who loved him.

His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest peacefully, Poppie. You will be deeply loved and forever missed.
