The WIC program aims to safeguard the health of low-income women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating, and referrals to health care.

Good afternoon everyone! Here are a few reminders from the RST WIC Program as we finish out October.

There’s still time to enroll during October! All new participants enrolling this month will be eligible for a $100 drawing on October 30, 2026. If you or someone you know would like more information, give us a call!

Please remember to use your WIC benefits each month. Two months of unredeemed benefits results in termination of services. Our office is closed the last two days of the month for staff training, remote card loading and record updates, so please plan ahead.

Don’t forget, pumpkin and squash are allowed WIC fruit and vegetable purchases! The $1 increase for breastfeeding and children’s fruit and vegetable food packages also took effect October 1.

A few reminders from the RST WIC Program this week.

If you’re expecting a baby, please join us for our Preparing for a Safe and Healthy Pregnancy Class on Monday, October 19, from 1 to 3 PM. A complimentary meal will be provided. Call 605.747.2617 to save your spot.

Don’t forget to use your WIC benefits each month. Pumpkin and squash are approved purchases with your fruit and vegetable benefits if you’re planning some fall meals.

The Rosebud WIC Program will close at 12:00 p.m. today, Friday, September 25, as we mourn the passing of Shaun Mills, Director of RST Solid Waste.

Shaun was a valued part of our Tribal community. His work touched many programs and families, and he will be deeply missed. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and coworkers. Please keep them in your thoughts during this difficult time.
