Eighty-two years ago on the sixth day, of the sixth month, at the sixth hour, young men of the from all walks of life were tasked to do the extraordinary...storm the beaches of code named Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword. 73,000 American soldiers embarked on the largest amphibious invasion on the coastline of France beginning the end of World War II in Europe.
Today we pause to remember the heroes lost and the thousands that made the ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of freedom. Their sacrifice echoes through generations.
