One of the most rewarding parts of my work is helping people uncover why their body is doing what it's doing, not just trying to quiet the symptoms. Some of my most meaningful work has been helping people who have spent months or even years searching for answers to "mystery illnesses" without finding lasting relief. Kathleen recently wrote this beautiful review, and with her permission, I'd love to share a little more of her story.
For 17 months, Kathleen lived with chronic urticaria, a condition that causes recurring hives and intense itching. Her body was almost entirely covered with a painful rash. She was horribly uncomfortable and embarrassed to be seen.
Medically, urticaria is associated with allergies, immune system activation, or stress. Kathleen had seen multiple physicians and tried numerous approaches, both mainstream and alternative, without any relief. Over time, the list of foods, drinks, and everyday activities she believed she couldn't tolerate kept growing. She was becoming afraid to eat, afraid to drink, and even afraid to make plans because it seemed like almost everything triggered another flare.
During our first session, we focused on the trapped trauma and trapped emotion she had endured after losing her home (and everything) in Hurricane Helene, along with deeper emotional patterns and nervous system regulation. She began improving instantly. After a week or so of clear skin, she felt confident enough to try adding foods back, but the hives instantly returned.
We did a second session, there was still trauma and emotion to release. Same thing, she immediately got better, her skin was clear for a week or two, she felt hopeful to begin life again, but the moment she tried to step back into normal living she was triggered. At first glance, this seemed to confirm that food was the problem. She felt deep despair believing she was never going to have a “normal life.”
For the 3rd session, her body was saying that the trauma and emotion was clear, so I needed to look for the deeper pattern to figure out what was going on. What I found surprised us both. Her nervous system wasn't reacting to the food. It was reacting to excitement. Somewhere along the way, her body had learned that feeling hopeful, expanding, looking forward to something, or stepping back into life wasn't safe. The symptoms weren't protecting her from food, they were protecting her from vulnerability, uncertainty, and the possibility of being hurt again.
Once we addressed that underlying pattern, everything changed. Today, Kathleen is eating foods she had eliminated, enjoying wine (which she never believed she would be able to do), and living her life again. Even more remarkable, she has recently navigated profound personal grief without her body returning to the same pattern that once controlled her life.
Stories like this remind me of an important truth: our bodies communicate through symptoms. Symptoms are real and deserve to be taken seriously, but they often aren't the whole story. Sometimes they aren't just something to eliminate, they're clues, pointing us toward unresolved trauma, chronic stress, or protective patterns that have been shaping our lives for years.
I am deeply honored to do this work, to walk alongside people during some of the most difficult chapters of their lives, and to witness the resilience and healing that can emerge when we look beneath the surface. Thank you, Kathleen, for trusting me with your journey and for giving me permission to share your story.
And one final note for those who do not believe in long distance energy healing: I live in Illinois, Kathleen lives in Florida, yet we were able to do this hundreds of miles apart. While I do offer in person sessions for those local to me, the vast majority of my work is done remotely. I have helped people all over the world. In the quantum realm there is no such thing as time or distance.
