Butterfly House Butterfly House is a transitional, sober house for adult women.

At Butterfly House, we are continually working towards providing a home where wounded spirits can see the possibility of a new life, women re-discover their full potential, families are healed through reunification, and futures are rewritten. All residents are required to attend at least one 12 step meeting per day, obtain and maintain employment, contribute regular service to the community, compl

ete drug education and relapse prevention studies, and identify and work to accomplish health, recovery, and financial goals.

Good night, Lord...Thank You for today, for my sanity, for my life, for the people surrounding me, for fellowship and my recovery. Tonight, I also pray for the addicts who still suffer. I pray that You relieve their suffering if only for a moment, a moment that may bring them closer to You and recovery. I look forward to tomorrow and another day of sobriety.

For the past 19+ years, Butterfly House residents have attended the Spiritual Program retreats several times a year. Many of you may remember Jim Reding--he was a soft-hearted old-timer in the Program and knew the Big Book by heart. Jim would come to Butterfly House on Fridays and lead a Recovery Bible Group with the residents and then they would have a cookout afterwards. The residents didn't know what to think when Jim would ask them all to get onto their knees to pray during the group, but they did it. If the residents had a problem, he could tell them exactly where they could look in the Big Book for the solution. Jim laughed and cried with the residents and always had the best advice. Anyways, Jim always made sure that the residents made it to the retreats, and because we have witnessed and believe that the experience is so valuable (whether you're struggling in your recovery or are just looking for a refresher and fellowship) we will continue to make sure that our residents attend the retreat while in residence at Butterfly House.

Thank you, Higher Power, for I am glad to be useful; to have a reason for living, to have a purpose in life. I want to lose my life in this wonderful fellowship and so find it again.
I need the 12 Step Principles for the development of the buried life within me, the good life I misplaced before the program.
Thank you, for this recovery life within me is growing slowly but surely, with setbacks and mistakes, but still developing. I cannot yet know what it will be, but I know it will be good. That's all I want to know. It will be good. --12 Step Prayer Book
