Future Mold Detection Dog Oakley is making excellent progress, and continues to impress as she advances in her training!🐾 🔎 🦠 🏡

During open-room searches of residential homes , Oakley independently works each room’s air flow by air-scenting, and systematically checking high and low areas, corners, closets, objects, walls, outlets and more for the presence of mold-associated target odors—all without handler presentation & detailing directing her during these type of sweeps.

When Oakley encounters target odor, she demonstrates a distinct change in behavior before executing her trained final response: standing still and “freezing” on point with her mouth closed and nose positioned as close to the source as possible until released for her reward.
🛑 🥶 👉 🎯 = 🎾

This type of precise trained response provides a handler with a clearer indication of where the source of the target odor is being detected, helping narrow down the area of concern and reducing reliance on process-of-elimination methods to interpret a dogs alerts and where the source of the target odor is located .💥 💯 👌

At First Defense K9 LLC, we believe effective detection work starts with purposeful training, reliable odor recognition, and clear communication between the dog and handler. Oakley’s continued progress reflects our commitment to developing capable, confident detection dog teams prepared to put their specialized skills to work.
