Meet the Medic | Sunny

This is Sunny, one of our dedicated EMTs helping cover sporting events across Minnesota.

Sunny brings a calm, professional approach to every event and enjoys working hockey the most, where the fast pace keeps every shift engaging. His visible presence and quick response help support athletes, coaches, and event staff throughout the day. When he's off the clock, you'll usually find him playing Warhammer, Magic: The Gathering, or enjoying other tabletop games with friends.

🚑 Welcome to the Team, Gospel!

We’re excited to welcome Gospel to Smith EMS as a Sports Medic.

Gospel is a Certified EMT and student at the University of St. Thomas, studying Exercise Science on a pre-med track, with a strong foundation in patient care and emergency response.

He also serves as a soccer coach, bringing leadership, communication, and a passion for working with athletes.

Gospel joined Smith EMS to grow as a provider and be directly involved in patient care at sporting events.

His favorite part of the job?

⚽ Helping athletes get back to doing what he loves.

How does covering Rugby as an EMT differ from other sports? 🏉💥

Rugby is fast, physical, and nonstop. With limited protective gear and constant contact, blood, bruises, cuts, and scrapes are simply part of the game. How do we treat that so quickly? We become a part of the game itself.
