Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. I attended a wonderful event organized by a military support community. The risk of su***de for veterans is 1.5 times higher. I was reminded by the speakers about the importance of connection and purpose for those who struggle with thoughts of self harm. Helping Paws was there too, an amazing organization that brings support animals to veterans and others in need. Not only do these dogs provide tangible assistance at home, but they greatly increase confidence and positive interactions, reducing isolation and depressive symptoms. And, they give their owners tremendous purpose. Please consider a donation. If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of self harm, support is available! Text or call 988. 💜

Madison! 🤩 She brings a unique mind-body approach to mental health. 💪🏽 Contact her via email to schedule: [email protected].
BIO: If you’re looking for someone who takes a holistic approach to mental health care, Madison may be the right fit for you. She believes in working collaboratively using integrative approaches, exploring not only the ‘why’, but also the ‘what now?’. She takes a psychoeducational approach, empowering folks to understand more about themselves and giving practical tools to help with each individual’s unique circumstances. Meeting individuals where they are at is important to her. She will offer various types of processing outside of talk therapy (e.g. EMDR, writing prompts, art directives, music, etc.), letting you take the reins and decide what feels the best and safest for your healing.

She has a wide range of experience, with her main specialty being in trauma-informed care and trauma processing. Additionally, she worked with athletes of different levels, optimizing both performance and recovery. However, she has experience with many different concerns, such as mood and anxiety disorders, relationship issues, grief and loss, life transitions, neurodivergence, and substance use disorders. She is EMDR Certified, has continuing education with integrative health for mental health, and trauma-informed care.

In her free time, she enjoys creating art, finding new tattoo ideas, hiking, and spending time with loved ones. Madison has spent over a decade in the fitness community and competed as a powerlifting athlete herself. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls, and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bethel University. She is licensed to practice in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.

We’ve been serving more and more kiddos, parents, and families, which we LOVE! 💓 So…we’re beyond excited to add another child therapist to the team! Meet Corrine Poole, LICSW, ECMHS. She brings extensive training as an Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist and in Child-Parent Psychotherapy. Her experience and background uniquely support kids & families. She will be in the office and telehealth, BUT she has a short waitlist already! To connect, email her at: [email protected].

Read more here:
Corrine has been a therapist since 2015 and has worked in a range of settings with folks from a range of backgrounds. She works with adults, often mothers, children and teens. When working with adults and teens, Corrine uses a psychodynamic, empathetic and insight oriented approach. She has a strong understanding of attachment theory and is always curious about how one’s past is impacting their present. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
When working with children, Corrine uses play to support expression of thoughts and feelings and to increase connection and attunement between children and their caregivers. She works closely with caregivers to support them in understanding the meaning behind their child’s behavior and to help strengthen parent-child relationships. She believes that children speak in behavior and heal through play. Corrine is trained in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), which is a model used to help young children (from infancy to age 6) heal from stress and trauma alongside their caregivers.

Our team brings expertise in a variety of topics, including some complicated ones like s*x. Our pre-licensed therapists (and me) had the AMAZING opportunity to learn all about s*x from the AMAZING Mary Kurtz, LADC, LPCC. I love how our team collaborates! Thank you so much, Mary for your wisdom. 🤩 Super star status! 🤩

What if you are walking a path to nowhere? This photo is a clear metaphor, but in life, we rarely realize our road is a dead end until we arrive. That sudden awareness often fuels deep depression. Pause and ask yourself: What do I want my destination to be like? Once you picture that end goal, turn around and inspect the road you are on right now: Is this truly the right path? Does a better route exist? Has my life shifted over time? How do I step off this road and find the right one? What support or tools do I need to make the switch?

I love this image for a lot of reasons. 1. My son made it. 🩷 2. Clients often look like this, presenting one way at first, but over time, the below surface reveals itself. The below surface is what we tend. 🪏3. Growth is often like a tiny green shoot, small and fragile at first, before it gets big and hardy. 💪🏽 4. Just as the slide says, growth is not always obvious, but it’s happening. We are meant to heal, grow, adapt, thrive.🪴

Humming, singing, and chanting gently stimulate the vagus nerve through vibrations in the throat. This helps activate your body’s “rest and digest” system, lowering heart rate and reducing stress. 🧠🤛🏽
