✨ New Group Starting This Week: ADHD Parenting Strategies ✨

Natalis Psychology is excited to offer our ADHD Parenting Strategies Group, beginning this week!

Parenting a child with ADHD can bring moments of connection, creativity, and joy — along with challenges that can leave caregivers feeling overwhelmed or unsure of what strategies will be most helpful. This group provides a supportive space for parents and caregivers to learn, connect with others, and gain practical tools to better understand and support their child.

Throughout the group, participants will explore strategies to help with:

• Understanding ADHD and how it impacts behavior and emotions
• Strengthening communication and connection
• Supporting emotional regulation and executive functioning skills
• Building routines and approaches that fit your family’s needs

Our goal is to provide families with evidence-based strategies, encouragement, and a community where caregivers feel supported and empowered. We look forward to welcoming families into this supportive learning community!

Meet the Team Monday!

Meet Tanner McCarthy, Psy.D. Tanner is a post-doctoral fellow who works out of our St. Louis Park location, offering both tele-health and in person appointments.

Tanner provides individual therapy and psychological assessment services across the lifespan. He appreciates anyone who is willing to work on themselves, whether it be through therapy or the assessment process. Psychological assessment can be a daunting idea for some. He strives to cultivate a space where you can explore difficulties in your life while celebrating strengths. With psychological assessment, he hopes to provide insight and increase your understanding of yourself to take on the trials of life. Tanner believes therapy is more than people talking in a room together. It is an opportunity for growth, to be truly understood, and to work towards reaching one’s goals in a nonjudgmental environment. It’s full of difficulties and hardships, laughter and joy, struggles and accomplishments. Therapy is for all, no matter how big or small the perceived problem may be. While he works with you, he will do his best to celebrate the uniqueness of you and create a therapeutic environment that is supportive yet challenging.
Tanner's therapeutic style consists of collaboration between himself and his clients. He uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as aspects from Humanism, Relational, Positive Psychology, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He also has quite a tendency to use humor. He has experience providing therapy across the lifespan, primarily with adults and children ages 14+. He enjoys working with individuals of all backgrounds, orientations, abilities, and struggles.

Tanner received his B.A. in Psychology from Augsburg College, his M.S. in the Science of Psychology from Purdue Global University, and his PsyD in Counseling Psychology at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. He is currently under the supervision of Dr. Madelyne Losby, PhD, LP.

If you are interested in scheduling a session with Tanner, please give us a call at 651-379-5157 or email us at [email protected]!
