Such an amazing story of resilience, clinical excellence, and compassion. 💙

Ron Buck, a Tierra Verde resident, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year at BayCare’s St. Anthony’s Hospital. After undergoing extensive surgery and withstanding a 12-cycle aggressive chemotherapy regiment to battle the disease, Ron is now a cancer survivor.

Ron is among the more than 18 million people in the United States who are cancer survivors. Today on National Cancer Survivors Day, we honor each of our patients who have been treated for cancer.

While Ron and his wife Robin are adventurous travelers who have gone to destinations like the Florida Keys, Australia, Costa Rica and Panama, they never wanted to share this journey. But both say they couldn't have done it without the outpatient infusion team at St. Anthony's which became like family.

At BayCare, our oncology teams are working with the latest advancements in cancer care. And by late summer, we'll continue those efforts with the opening of our new proton therapy center.

In recognition of Doctors’ Day and Nurses’ Day, the St. Anthony’s Hospital Auxiliary generously presented $500 gifts to both the Foundation and St. Anthony’s Hospital Medical Staff, honoring the outstanding dedication of our doctors and nurses. We are grateful to the Auxiliary for carrying on this meaningful tradition each year.
