Aging life care management is not the easiest profession to explain in a few words… we are not just care coordinators or advocates… we are the glue that holds the fragmented pieces of our aging services and healthcare system together.

👩‍⚕️We are the professionals that advocate for your mom in the hospital room when the the physician starts throwing out terms and diagnoses that you do not understand or the discharge planner that is handing you a list of local rehab facilities and asking you to make a choice without understanding the options.

💔We console the grieving husband who lost his wife of 50 years and is being asked to move into an assisted living facility by his well-meaning adult children who are overwhelmed and barely holding it together.

We are the ones holding the whole picture together…

🧭We are guided by the Aging Life Care Associations code of ethics and standards of practice that are the highest in the aging industry!

When caregiving becomes overwhelming, these professionals can help families navigate the maze of medical services and difficult care decisions

Why “A Silver Lining”?

A silver lining is the bit of hope you find inside a scary and overwhelming moment.

Aging can feel like a building storm. Failing memory, complex healthcare scenarios, end of life decisions, and families trying to figure it all. It can feel like watching the dark clouds rolling in…

Here in Florida, we know storms. The families who come through best are the ones who got ready before the storm hits.

Aging is the same. As Aging Life Care Managers®, we help you prepare before the crisis, and stand beside you when one comes. That readiness, and that peace, is the silver lining. 💛

A recent Google review…

“My mother lives alone in Florida and I live in Michigan. A fall and hospital stay changed everything, and I was faced with so many unknowns.

I had no idea there were professionals like Kelly and A Silver Lining to help with the monumental tasks ahead of me. The peace of mind Kelly has brought me during this difficult time is beyond words.

Her caring insight, professionalism, and knowledge of the medical system helped everything run smoothly so my mom could get the help and care she needed.

And perhaps most importantly, knowing there was someone here who could focus on my mother when I couldn’t allowed me to go home and take care of my own family—with peace in my heart.

I wish we had involved her years ago… but I will never regret involving her now.”

— A Grateful daughter

There is a lot of confusion about where normal aging ends and something more serious begins. Some families panic over ordinary forgetfulness. Others wave off real warning signs as "just getting older." The difference matters, so let me clear a little of it up.

Some forgetfulness is a normal part of aging. Walking into a room and blanking on why, needing a moment to find a word, or occasionally misplacing the keys are usually nothing to worry about, especially when it comes back to you a little later.

What tends to raise a flag is different. Keys turning up in the freezer with no memory of how they got there. Getting lost on a route driven for years. Repeating the same question within a few minutes, or struggling with bills and recipes that used to be second nature.

Normal aging is forgetting where you parked. The kind of change worth a closer look is forgetting how to get home.

If something feels off, you do not have to figure it out alone, or wait until you are certain. Noticing early gives families more choices, not fewer.

Here to help you find A Silver Lining in the aging journey.

A dementia diagnosis can feel like the end of the life you built together. It doesn’t have to be.

In the earlier stages, couples can still do the things they love, including travel. The secret is planning ahead: building in plenty of rest, keeping the itinerary loose, and sometimes bringing along an extra companion for added support.

Those trips do more than fill the days. They create memories you can return to together as things change, moments to revisit and treasure for years to come.

Independence and joy don’t have to disappear overnight. With the right support, they can last far longer than you might expect. 💛

You flew down. You toured several assisted living communities in two days, signed the paperwork, got her settled into a new life, and hugged her goodbye. You got on the plane believing the hardest part was behind you.

Then the phone calls started.

From two thousand miles away, you hear one version of the story from your mom and another from the staff, with no way to know which one is closer to the truth. You feel helpless. You start pricing flights.

You do not need another plane ticket. You need someone local who answers only to your family. An Aging Life Care Manager® can walk into the community, partner with the staff to improve her daily quality of life, and give you peace of mind mind through clear communication and expert advocacy.

✋ Squeeze your hand. 🚶 Time your walk. 🦵 Stand on one leg.

Researchers consider grip strength, walking speed, and balance some of the greatest indicators of healthy aging. Together they closely track independence, mobility, and longevity. In one study, adults who could not balance on one foot for 10 seconds had an 84% higher risk of death over the next decade.

🧠 Staying active also lowers dementia risk by up to 45% and helps protect against depression.

The best part? All of it improves with training. At any age. Starting today. In Home Senior Fitness

Staying strong is how you stay independent, at home, and in control of your own life.
