The words “thank you” don’t feel big enough.
To everyone who joined us for our 5th Annual The World Needs You Here Walk & Roll on Sunday, thank you. Whether it was your first year or your fifth, we’re so deeply grateful you chose to be here with us.
This day has never been about the miles. It is about people. It is about showing up exactly as you are and being gently reminded that you matter, you belong, and you are never walking this life alone.
Standing on Salem Common and watching hundreds of people laughing, hugging, crying, and walking or rolling side by side is something we’ll never take for granted. Every year, this community finds its way back to itself. Strangers become friends, friends become family, and for a few powerful hours, the weight people carry feels just a little bit lighter when we are all together. That is the heartbeat of why Mental Makeover began.
To our keynote speakers, thank you for trusting us with your stories. Your courage and vulnerability echoed far beyond those few minutes. We know there were people in that crowd who felt seen, understood, and less alone because of you.
To our volunteers, sponsors, donors, vendors, board members, community partners, and friends, thank you for bringing this day to life. This community exists because you continue to believe that mental health and su***de prevention matter, and that small acts of showing up for one another can create life changing impact.
Eight years ago, this was just a spark of an idea. Today, it is a community built on compassion, kindness, hope, and support.
To our first timers, welcome. We’re so glad you’re here. To those who have been with us since the beginning, thank you for believing in us when this was still just a dream. You’ve helped shape this into something far greater than we ever imagined.
Our hearts are so full. Thank you for reminding us that hope is real, sharing stories has the power to heal, and community love is everything.
