Day 2 of "Back to School" Week at the Joseph C. Thomas Center took us to Social Studies Class- where we learned about the state of Arizona. Residents watched video highlights and even tried an Arizona favorite- Prickly Pear Sorbet Slushies. A+ goes out to our Dining Dept. for serving up some delicious Chicken Chili, Fried Bread, and special cookies for Dessert, today at lunch.🌵🏜️🍐🧋

We’re still up in the air after last week’s incredible adventure with Dream Flights! ✈️

Dream Flights, a nonprofit organization, gave 9 of our Friendship Retirement veterans the chance to take to the skies in a restored WWII Stearman biplane.

It was truly a dream come true — a once-in-a-lifetime experience we’ll never forget!

Thank you, Dream Flights and the team members from Sports Clips Haircuts of Blacksburg & Christiansburg who helped create this incredible experience.

Join us in Congratulating Samantha Dickerson as Joseph C. Thomas Center Team Member of the Month for September! 🎉

Samantha was born and raised in Salem, VA. She moved to Elliston and has lived there ever since. Samantha has been married for 12 years and has an 11 year old daughter.

She worked as a cashier all of her life, until she came to work at Joseph C. Thomas Center as a Housekeeper a year and a half ago. Samantha says her favorite thing about working here is being around the residents, she says she “really enjoys all of them” and we believe they really enjoy her too!

During her free time, she likes spending time with family, reading, swimming, 4-wheeling, and enjoying outdoor activities.
