Congratulations to Susan Hopkins, owner and Funeral Director of Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, on receiving the prestigious Hidden Jewel Emerald Award from the Southern NH Chamber of Commerce. This meaningful honor is a beautiful reflection of Susan’s dedication to serving others and the compassion she brings to her work and community every day. The emerald is a symbol of hospitality, prosperity, mercy, compassion, and universal love—qualities that Susan exemplifies through her kindness, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the families she serves. Susan’s unique acceptance speech was done in a poetic rhyme with a light-hearted plea for volunteerism. We are incredibly proud to celebrate this well-deserved achievement and all that Susan contributes to the Southern New Hampshire community.
