What used to be called PCOS is now being referred to as PMOS. This is more than a name change, it reflects a shift in how we understand the condition.

Not everyone with this diagnosis has ovarian “cysts,” and for many patients, that label has contributed to missed symptoms and incomplete evaluations.

PMOS broadens the focus to what actually matters: hormone balance, metabolic health, and ovulation, not just what an ultrasound shows.

If you’ve been told you don’t have PCOS because you don’t have ovarian cysts, it’s important to know this condition goes far beyond imaging alone. If your symptoms still feel unanswered or dismissed, it may be time for a re-evaluation.
