According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), pregnancy tests date way back to 1350 BCE… and delivered an answer with about 70% accuracy!

This discovery is such a fascinating one involving the usage of wheat and barley seeds. While more sophisticated tests are obviously available today (and give us a verdict within minutes), it’s always intriguing to see the ancient practices back in the day.
