The Emotional Resolution Effect At the Emotional Health Institute we provide education, conduct trainings & seminars, share articles The main focus of E.H.I.

The Emotional Health Institute is a nonprofit organization aiming to create communities where individuals, children, and families are thriving emotionally; free from disruptive emotional patterns (such as fear, anger, anxiety, phobias…) and the otherwise long-lasting effects of trauma. Our focus is to understand how our brain constructs emotional patterns and to teach how it can resolve them permanently and naturally.

A child who is thriving emotionally is a better student, sibling, friend, inspiration. An adult who is thriving emotionally is a better parent, leader, mentor, neighbor. An individual who knows how to resolve dysfunctional emotional patterns is a powerful help for the community. is to teach the Emotional Resolution® Process or EmRes® and to educate about and around emotional functioning and the resolution of difficult emotional patterns.

Does money bring up fear—even when you’re doing everything “right”?

The feeling that there is never enough. Guilt about receiving more. Discomfort charging for your work. Fear of losing what you have.

Our relationship with money can carry a powerful emotional charge.

Join me for **Resolving Fear and Beliefs Around Money**, a two-day EmRes® intensive exploring the recurring emotional patterns behind scarcity, receiving, growing, and keeping money.

Through teaching, reflection, and guided experiential work, we’ll explore these patterns and begin addressing the fears beneath them.

“I know why I react this way. Why does it still happen?”

You’ve reflected on it. You recognize the pattern. Yet a familiar situation brings back the same anxiety, fear, or frustration.

That can be exhausting.

Emotional Resolution® (EmRes®) invites you to work with the physical sensations present during that reaction, allowing them to evolve without trying to control them.

In a guided session, we work with a specific recurring emotional difficulty. You don’t need to recount your past or find the perfect explanation for what you feel.

“I’ve always been this way.”

Have you ever said that about your anxiety, your fear of conflict, or your need to keep everyone happy?

What if some of what you call your personality began as a way to protect yourself?

I joined Lisa Lacy on **Notes From The Edge** for a conversation about the emotional patterns we carry—and the difference between managing those patterns and resolving them.

I shared my own experience masking anxiety while leading hundreds of employees. From the outside, I looked capable and confident. Inside, it was a different story.

We explored the body’s role in emotional processing, what Emotional Resolution® (EmRes®) offers, and why contentment might be a more meaningful pursuit than constant happiness.

What if we didn’t always have to revisit the past to move forward?

After their first Emotional Resolution® (EmRes®) training module, Mercy Mogiti and Sheila Kibii at Global Justice Group Kenya shared a thoughtful reflection on this question.

Their work supports survivors of human trafficking. What stood out to them was the possibility of working with an emotional response through the physical sensations happening in the present.

Sometimes, a starting point can be: “What am I experiencing right now?”

Thank you, Mercy and Sheila, for sharing your learning and the connection you see with your work. 💛

Before arguing your point, ask yourself one question:

Is fear speaking for me?

We often believe that we are responding logically or defending what is right.

But sometimes, our arguments, actions and reactions are being shaped by old fears and beliefs—emotional responses that may have little to do with what is happening now.

When unresolved fear enters a conversation, we may stop engaging with the person in front of us and begin defending ourselves against something from the past.

Emotional Resolution® (EmRes®) offers another possibility:

Resolve the fear first.
Then enter the conversation.

Not from defensiveness.
Not from an automatic reaction.
But with greater presence, freedom and clarity.

Where do you see unresolved fear influencing our conversations most—relationships, workplaces, therapy or public debate?

Please keep the conversation about patterns, not people.

Save this video for your next difficult conversation, and share it with someone who believes we need a more emotionally conscious world.

Are there really such things as “negative emotions”?

Emotions can be painful, intense—and sometimes debilitating. But that does not make the emotion itself negative.

Our emotional responses carry information. They let us know that something does not feel right.

The important question is:

Is this emotion appropriate to what is happening in my life today—or is an old response overwhelming the present?

When a painful emotional pattern no longer fits our current reality, we may not have to spend our lives managing it. Through Emotional Resolution® (EmRes®), we work directly with the bodily sensations involved in the response, allowing the underlying pattern to resolve—without needing to analyze or retell the past.

What might change if you stopped judging an emotion as “negative” and became curious about what your body was experiencing?

“The therapist must be boundlessly open and, by definition, make no preliminary judgment, no diagnosis. They must always receive the patient as though it were the first time, without preconceptions—even allowing them the possibility of having gained nothing from the previous session and starting again from scratch. What matters most is the moment when someone awakens to themselves. For that to happen, we must not confine them within what we already know.”

— François Roustang

For EmRes® practitioners, these words speak to an essential quality of our work: the openness we bring to each encounter.

Our training gives us tools and understanding. Our presence allows us to notice the person in front of us—beyond their story, our expectations, or what happened in a previous session.

This means remaining curious. Being comfortable with not knowing. Recognizing when our interpretations begin to take more space than the person’s actual experience.

We accompany someone without deciding in advance what they should feel, discover, or become. We make room for their bodily experience to unfold, without imposing an explanation or forcing an outcome.

Each session is an invitation to meet again, with fresh attention.

Can we know our craft deeply while leaving room to be surprised?
