For anyone still using, here are some resources to help keep you safe.
Never Use Alone! PLEASE, don't use while you're alone, with no one to call for help if you need it. If you're alone and using, call our 24/7/365, toll-free, US National Overdose Response Line, called Never Use Alone, at 1-877-696-1996.
One of our operators will stay on the phone with you to make sure you're ok after using. If you stop responding, we'll send an ambulance to your location.
All calls are confidential. No one will know you called, and we never share your information with anyone other than EMS if needed.
All operators are people with lived experience. They've all been there. No one will ever judge you, shame you, or preach at you about quitting. It's not our place to decide when, or even IF, you decide to quit. Our only goal is to increase your chances of surviving what could otherwise be a fatal medical emergency. If you ask for help, we'll go to the end of the earth to help you, but only if you ask.

We're always needing more operators at NUA. If you'd like to volunteer with us, fill out the application form on our website at www.neverusealone.com/volunteer.
Abstinence is NOT a requirement for volunteering with us.
Good Samaritan Laws
The Good Samaritan Law protects people from prosecution, who call for help when someone is overdosing. In some states, it also covers the person overdosing. Please know and understand our states GSL and Narcan Policies. You can get more info on that at https://nextdistro.org/policies
Naloxone Access
If you need Naloxone (Narcan), you can go to www.naloxoneforall.org to order some for free. They will mail it to your door, free of charge. If they do not cover your state for some reason, let us know and we can find you another option.
Other Overdose Response Lines
Never Use Alone is not the only option when it comes to telephone based overdose prevention lines. Another option available to anyone in the US is called Safe Spot. They're also available 24/7. You can reach Safe Spot by calling 800-972-0590, or visiting their webpage at https://safe-spot.me/.
There is also a Canadian National Overdose Response Line. You can get more info on the Canadian national line at www.nors.ca.
