What sports should you avoid?

This one tends to surprise people. Our answer isn’t based on whether a sport is “good” or “bad”—it’s based on how much repetitive stress, high-impact force, and injury risk it places on the body and nervous system.

Sports like football, hockey, boxing, wrestling, lacrosse, gymnastics, and even ballet can demand incredible athleticism, but they also come with a higher likelihood of collisions, repetitive strain, or excessive joint stress.

That doesn’t mean don’t play them. It means:
✔️ Be proactive with recovery.
✔️ Prioritize mobility and strength.
✔️ Listen to your body’s warning signs.
✔️ Make sure your nervous system is functioning at its best so your body can adapt to the physical demands placed on it.

Think about an onion. You don’t get to the center by removing every layer at once.

Your nervous system works similarly.
