Several members of the UFDA Board had the opportunity to attend the National Funeral Directors Association Leadership Conference in Kentucky this week. We returned with new ideas, valuable connections, and renewed excitement to serve our members. We even found time to experience Kentucky with visits to Churchill Downs Louisville Slugger and the Louisville Mega Cavern!

“We lost her.”

We say these things to protect children from the pain of death. But vague language and euphemisms can actually cause confusion, fear, and mistrust in grieving children more than the truth.

The kindest thing we can do? Use real words.

Died. Dead.

Today we celebrate the fathers and father figures who have guided, supported, and inspired us. We also remember those whose presence is deeply missed but whose legacy lives on in the hearts of their families.

The 2026-2027 UFDA Board recently gathered in Kamas, Utah, for our annual board retreat. It was a great opportunity to strengthen friendships, share ideas, and prepare for the year ahead.

Our board left energized, united, and excited to serve funeral professionals across Utah. We look forward to supporting our members and continuing to move our profession forward together.

We are honored and excited to officially welcome and acknowledge the 2026–2027 Board of the Utah Funeral Directors Association.

This association plays such an important role in supporting funeral professionals across Utah, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside such dedicated individuals. We look forward to working together to strengthen our profession, support our members, and continue serving families and communities with compassion, professionalism, and integrity.
