Your skin doesn’t count birthdays. It counts UV exposure.
Every unprotected drive, beach day, patio lunch, and afternoon walk can add to cumulative sun damage—showing up over time as fine lines, uneven pigmentation, rough texture, and loss of elasticity.
The most effective anti-aging strategy starts with prevention: wear broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher, reapply every two hours when outdoors, and pair sunscreen with shade, hats, and protective clothing.

Stress doesn’t just affect how you feel, it can affect how your skin functions, too.
When your body experiences stress, it releases cortisol, a hormone that’s designed to help you respond to challenges. But when stress becomes chronic, elevated cortisol can contribute to increased inflammation, disrupt your skin barrier, and make certain skin concerns more noticeable.
You may notice:
• More breakouts
• Dryness or sensitivity
• Increased redness
• Flare-ups of eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea
• Skin that takes longer to heal
The good news? You don’t have to navigate it alone. Along with healthy stress management, a board-certified dermatologist can help identify what’s happening and create a treatment plan tailored to your skin.
Because healthy skin isn’t just about what you put on it, it’s also about understanding what’s happening beneath the surface.

The truth is that skincare is healthcare. Taking care of your skin isn’t about perfection—it’s about protecting your body’s largest organ.
What’s a common skincare misconception that’s an immediate red flag for you? Tell us in the comments. 👇

Your skin changes with every stage of life and your skincare should, too. ☀️

Women can lose up to 30% of their skin’s collagen in the first five years after menopause, followed by about 2% each year after that. As estrogen declines, skin naturally becomes thinner, drier, less elastic, and slower to heal. Add years of UV exposure, and these changes can become even more noticeable.

That’s why your 50s aren’t the time to give up on collagen, they’re the time to protect it. Daily sunscreen, healthy skincare habits, and personalized treatments can help support your skin’s health for years to come.

We’re here for your skin at every stage of life, from prevention and skin cancer screenings to medical dermatology, cosmetic treatments, and everything in between. Schedule your appointment today, and let us help you keep your skin healthy, confident, and protected through every season.

Summer doesn’t mean you have to put your skin goals on hold. ☀️
While certain laser treatments are best reserved for the cooler months, many of today’s aesthetic treatments can be performed safely year-round with the right treatment plan and diligent sun protection.
From collagen-stimulating procedures and injectables to skin-strengthening treatments and select laser technologies, summer is a great time to maintain your results—not press pause on them.
The key isn’t avoiding treatment altogether—it’s choosing the right treatments for the season and working with a board-certified dermatologist who can tailor a plan to your skin, your lifestyle, and your goals. With the right approach, you can protect your investment and keep your skin looking its best all summer long.
