In Chinese medicine, Summer is divided into two seasons: Early Summer, and Late Summer. Even though we’re in late summer now, I want to tell you just a bit about Early Summer, because it is never too late to tend to the heart. ♥️ Early Summer is the season of the Heart and the Fire element. It is a time of inspiration, connection, creativity, and purpose. It is the season that invites us to listen carefully to the wisdom of the heart and to ask ourselves: What matters most? What brings me alive? What kind of life am I creating? I am a little late this year, because I’ve been tending to my own broken heart after the passing of my father, one of my dearest friends. Nourishing the heart does not mean we need to be busting at the seams with happiness, but it does mean that we need to nurture those things that soften and brighten our hearts. For me that is time with my sweet family, nature, and art. What nourishes your sweet heart? ♥️
