HELP!!!
I have a neighbor that needs an electrician to fix a box on their house prior to getting their power turned on. I think it’s called a weather cap. Can anyone out there help him out please? He has a wife and kids and it’s only getting hotter.

We all dodged a bullet, folks.
But what I don’t understand are these influencers trying to tell people this was a “half hurricane”. I’ve seen people on social media even tell tourists “the Emerald coast is open for business!”

Are you crazy?

While I’m glad your high-rise condos and fancy eating places survived, there are a lot of people hurting right now, especially in the Midway/Milton area. The last thing we need right now are tourists. Why don’t you simply tell us locals which restaurants and businesses are open? There’s a lot of people in Navarre without power and with very few options for dinner. They don’t need to be waiting in line behind a bunch of tourists.

Please. Tourists will start coming down for Halloween events soon enough, now is the time to take care of the locals first.

What’s going on now along the Emerald Coast is disgraceful.
We were supposed to go to Newport Rhode Island to celebrate America’s 250th when my dog Gracie became critically ill. I had invested in some great hotels, reserved some special events for the fireworks show, even booked a sailing lesson on July 4th.
When Gracie suffered a stroke, all that went out the window. To my surprise, everyone in Rhode Island was so understanding. Most of the businesses refunded me with no questions asked, and those that didn’t credited me for a future date. It was as if they understood the tragedy I was going through outweighed any profit they were expecting. On July 4th, no less.

I will never forget the generosity of strangers. It was as if they were honoring my poor Gracie in their own way.

Now we are hearing of condo owners not letting tourists out of their reservations for this weekend, even though restaurants are closed, traffic lights are out, trees are down, beach accesses are washed away, and I barely have enough WiFi to post this and have yet to check on the status of my house and business.

Have a heart. Don’t bring tourists into this as most of us are piecing our lives back together. And don’t try to defraud these people and act like everything is ok. Our community is hurting, and your greed is not representative of the good people that live here.

If you ask me, we need to round up these people who are gouging tourists, and throw them out of our state. It wouldn’t surprise me if they are the same exact people who think they own the sand.

There is no way the northeast should be more hospitable than the Florida panhandle. Can we please get back to acting like old Florida?
