Avoidance feels good at first.
The tension drops. The discomfort fades.

But short term relief often turns into long term anxiety.

When we avoid difficult conversations, emotions, or decisions, we unintentionally teach our brain that those situations are dangerous. Over time, fear grows instead of shrinking.

Learning to tolerate discomfort safely is often the turning point.
