During his presentation, Dr. Griffith dove into the effective conservative treatments for lower back pain, when surgery is appropriate and the lifestyle factors that help prevent or improve back pain. A warm welcome to Derek A. Barker, DPM, who joins the Chatham Orthopaedics team as our new podiatrist! 🙌

Dr. Barker is board-certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and specializes in podiatry and foot and ankle care, including surgery, wound care, and diabetic foot health education. He is passionate about helping patients stay active, healthy, and informed through comprehensive podiatric care.

Originally from Michigan, Dr. Barker completed his residency at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. He also brings a strong commitment to patient education and preventative care to every visit.

We’re excited to have Dr. Barker join Chatham Orthopaedics, treating patients at our Claxton location and most of all expanding expert foot and ankle care for our community!
