Marywood University has been awarded a $500,000 Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to support major upgrades to our Center for Natural and Health Sciences.

The project will include a new physics laboratory, renovated biology, biotechnology, chemistry, and computer science labs, and new collaborative learning spaces that will enhance hands-on education for our students.

This investment reflects our commitment to providing innovative learning environments that prepare the next generation of scientists, healthcare professionals, and technology leaders.

Every patient has a story and sometimes, the greatest lessons happen outside the classroom.

This week, our Physician Assistant students participated in a Poverty Simulation facilitated by NEPA AHEC, stepping into scenarios that challenged them to navigate everyday realities like limited resources, financial hardship, and difficult decisions.

Experiences like these help future healthcare providers better understand the social determinants of health and the barriers many patients face long before they enter a clinic or hospital. By building empathy alongside clinical knowledge, our students are preparing to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.

A heartfelt thank you to NEPA AHEC for partnering with us to bring this meaningful learning experience to Marywood.

Coming back to our featured student segments!! Today’s first-year featured student is Piper Herauf… all the way from TX!! Welcome Piper!!! 

Hi! My name is Piper Herauf, and I am from Rosenberg, TX! I am most excited to meet a bunch of new friends at marywood! I love to go find cute coffee shops, get my nails done, go to church, play games, and shop!! I will also be playing volleyball at MU. I became interested in SLP because I love to help others and this program is an amazing way to do this!!
