A glimpse into healthcare today can help inspire the leaders of tomorrow. 💙

Students recently spent the day at AdventHealth building leadership skills and exploring the many ways a career in healthcare can make a difference. Through conversations with leaders, hands-on learning and a campus tour, they gained a firsthand look at the people and purpose behind caring for our community.

Thank you to the teams who helped create a meaningful experience for these future leaders and gave them a closer look at how AdventHealth is helping strengthen the health and well-being of Highlands County.

Dr. Donald Geldart was honored as Physician of the Year at the 2026 Highlander Awards, recognizing a legacy of care that continues to make a meaningful difference across Highlands County and beyond.

His daughter, Kimmy, accepted the award on behalf of Dr. Geldart and their family, making the recognition especially meaningful.

AdventHealth Foundation Director Jessica Carlson had the privilege of presenting the award during an evening dedicated to celebrating the people who have made a lasting impact in Highlands County.

We are grateful for Dr. Geldart’s contributions and for the many lives touched through his care and commitment to others.

Your kind words of encouragement mean more than you know. 💙

At our Christmas in July event, members of our community took time to write heartfelt notes of encouragement for our patients and nurses. Each message was a simple reminder that care, hope and kindness can come from all around us.

To everyone who shared a note, thank you. Your words will bring encouragement to patients during their healing journeys and remind our nurses that our community is behind them.

We are so grateful to be part of a community that shows up for one another with such compassion.

We recently honored the life and legacy of Dr. Arthur Williams during a special Tree Dedication Ceremony at our AdventHealth Sebring Campus.

Colleagues, friends and loved ones gathered to share stories, celebrate his contributions and reflect on the lasting impact he made on our community and those he served.

A commemorative tree has been planted along the Sebring Wellness Trail as a living tribute to his legacy. We invite you to take a moment to walk the trail, pause for reflection and remember Dr. Williams, whose compassion, dedication and service continue to inspire us all.

From serving as a security officer to leading in the Emergency Department, Anthony’s journey reflects the heart of AdventHealth. 💙

Anthony's journey first began as a security officer at AdventHealth, while finishing nursing school. After becoming a nurse resident in the AdventHealth Sebring emergency department, he quickly stood out, earning a DAISY nomination and growing into a trusted charge nurse on night shift.

Today, as assistant nurse manager, his compassion, teamwork and uplifting spirit continue to inspire all around him.

This year he was honored again with the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. Anthony embodies our mission of helping others feel whole; every patient, every team member, every day. Congratulations, Anthony!

At a recent Christmas in July event, our team had the opportunity to connect with community members and share information about the local services AdventHealth offers close to home.

As part of the event, we also invited attendees to write letters of encouragement for patients and nurses. These heartfelt messages serve as a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can bring comfort, hope and joy when it's needed most.

Caring for the community extends beyond our hospital walls. 💙

AdventHealth was honored to support this year’s Caladium Festival in Lake Placid.

Throughout the weekend, our team members volunteered and hosted a community care station offering complimentary cold bottled water, cooling towels, fans, sunscreen and a refreshing misting tent to help festivalgoers stay safe in the Florida summer heat.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this beloved tradition a healthy, memorable experience for our community.
