🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month — A Story of Strength, Courage & Hope 🎀
Behind every pink ribbon is a story. Today, we want to share one that is especially close to our hearts here at The Palms at Sebring. 🩷
On April 3, 2018, our very own Kelly Brooks, Assistant Business Office Manager/Medical Records, received news that would forever change her life- she had breast cancer.
In a matter of weeks, Kelly went from receiving a life-changing diagnosis to undergoing a surgery that would forever be part of her story. Her journey was one of physical and emotional challenges, courage, resilience, and the determination to keep moving forward.
After more than two years, on November 13, 2020, Kelly received the news she had been waiting and fighting for — she was officially CANCER FREE! 🩷
Today, Kelly stands as a breast cancer survivor, and her story reminds us exactly why we recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month every October.
We don’t wear pink simply because it’s October.
🎀 We wear pink for the women and men who have heard the words, “You have cancer.”
🎀 We wear pink for those who have endured surgeries, treatments, and life-changing decisions.
🎀 We wear pink for those still fighting, those who have survived, and those we have sadly lost.
🎀 We wear pink to encourage awareness, early detection, and support for everyone affected by breast cancer.
And today, we wear pink for Kelly. 🩷
Kelly, your journey is a testament to strength, perseverance, and hope. We are incredibly grateful to have you as part of our Palms family, and we are honored to celebrate not only your survivorship but the woman you are today.
Your story is more than a cancer diagnosis. It is a story of courage, survival, and life beyond breast cancer.
This October, we encourage everyone to take their health seriously, stay informed about recommended breast cancer screenings, and remember that behind every pink ribbon is a person, a family, and a story worth honoring.
🩷 Today, we celebrate Kelly Brooks — Breast Cancer Survivor. 🎀
