Our Fig team threw one last celebration to say goodbye to our team member, Logan ⭐️

Sometimes the map changes for our team members, and we must take the time to celebrate the good times we had together at the Summit 💙

(Don’t worry the pizza grease was wiped up after… probably 😉)

Try these two movements so that you can complete a no hands get up!

First: double knees to chest stretch
Second: Single leg squat

Try to retest yourself with our under 40 movement test we made!

If you couldn’t squat deep enough because your heels came off the ground or your ankles started hurting - try this exercise!

If you couldn’t get deep enough for a squat because your hips were too tight- try the world’s greatest stretch 🙆‍♀️

The world‘s greatest stretch opens your hips, mobilizes your spine and activates your core. It’s a highly efficient stretch that warms up your full body. 🔥

Part two tomorrow will show you how to keep your heels on the ground during a deep squat.

Do I have to accept that my balance will get worse as I age? Are falls inevitable after 65? These are great questions, and ones we often hear at The Summit PT!

When you take steps to improve your strength, stability, and coordination, you stay active, confident, and independent as you age. More importantly, you reduce the risk of falling.

We look at World Cup star, Kylian Mbappé ⚽sprinting down the pitch and think he's built differently. But strip away the fame, and his musculoskeletal system is remarkably similar to yours.🫢

He gets sore.
His muscles ache.
So how can he set the world record for most goals scored in knock out matches and you experience LOW BACK PAIN after sitting at your desk?

The difference is that he takes his recovery seriously. He doesn't push through pain, or try to rest until it goes away. He listens to his body when it's in pain.

LET'S BE REAL: You don't need to be a pro-athlete to recover like one. In fact, you don't need to be an athlete at all. You just need to stop waiting for minor aches to become major, daily disruptions.

Are you waking up in pain? Is your balance off? Have you noticed you’re walking a little weirdly to avoid a sore joint?

Those are your body's warning signs. The Summit PT team is here to act as your personal recovery squad. We know exactly how to address these imbalances so you can get back to living your life pain-free.

balancing on one leg feels too difficult, start with these progressions:

Level 1: Narrow Base of Support
Stand with both feet together for 30 seconds

Level 2: Semi Tandem Balance
One foot slightly in front of the other (the big toe of your back foot touches the instep of your front foot)

Level 3: Tandem Balance
One foot directly in front of the other (the heel of your front foot touches the toes on your back foot).

Level 4: Single Leg Balance with Toe Touch Support
Point the toe of your foot and rest the tip on the ground, while you shift all your body weight to your other straight leg.

If you’re able to complete these, try balancing again on one leg for 30 seconds.
