Welcome baby Olive! 🫒 Another three-peat for me this year, we got there after lunch and went home after dinner. Fourth babies are some of my favorites! She had a sweet easy going day labor with a sweet easy going personality to match. Olive took my advice to get chunky to heart and worked on her cheeks during her extra week inside, she stayed in long enough to reach 8lbs.8oz and 20.5 inches long. Big sister Maeve (the baby in my account profile photo, where does the time go?!) is very pleased to add a baby sister to her two brothers, she even bought her a tutu. Congratulations Breslin and Trever on your squishiest baby yet!

Welcome baby Delilah! What to say about this sweet birth? One of those where you remember why you do this work. These first time parents went through pregnancy, birth preparation and decision making with strength, faith and trust and they knew what mattered to them, so when their baby girl decided she’d like to come bottom first and would not be persuaded to turn, they expressed their wishes to labor anyway. I consulted with my wonderful friend and midwife mentor Loritha and we felt they were great candidates, so with a little extra preparation and planning, agreed to support their hopes of birthing at home with their little breech babe. It was an absolutely textbook birth by any standard, this mama labored and pushed like a champ and birthed her baby so powerfully. Delilah came “complete breech” with feet folded by her bum, she was born with her water intact and it was so cool to see that sac presenting with the little feet visible inside, which is not our usual view! She emerged from bum to birth all in one contraction with full Moro reflex, and was crying immediately. Im so delighted that we had the training available to us (Breech without Borders training, which I highly recommend!) to support this family’s autonomy so she gets to begin her childbearing years with such an empowering story! Baby Delilah weighed 6lbs 13 ounces and 19 inches long and is much loved by a large and supportive family. Congratulations Zoey and Isaiah on a wonderful butter birth and a beautiful girl!

Welcome baby Cashiel! He decided to come during my camping at the fair week, but was so considerate to time it perfectly around my kiddos livestock shows, so I was able to be fully present for everyone! The fifth baby to a family of four girls, he was a fun surprise- A boy!! And he will for sure win the blue ribbon for baby size this year, weighing in at 11 pounds and 23 inches long. I’ll give his mama Grand Champion for this one 😊😊 Congratulations Taylor and John and very excited big sisters!

Welcome baby Eleanor! Her arrival was slow until it wasn’t- We had lots of time for labor walks in the sun, hat making, coffee, snacks, and laughter and then we swiftly had a baby! :) She joins her two adoring big brothers Benny and Johnny, and will have absolutely no shortage of attention. She was a little (compared to her brothers) 8lbs 14 ounces and 21 inches. Congratulations Emily and Dustin! Ps. This family is also a three-peat for me, though the first two births i attended as a student and assistant.

Final visit for baby Alwyn! I gave him a 3 month shirt and he’s already filled it right out. What a happy chunky guy. I sure enjoy this sweet family, and not just because they brought us fresh baked bread and jam. 🤣 Will miss you! 😘

Welcome baby Levi! He was quite prompt and started labor on his due date, he might have finished it on his due date also if he hadn’t made his mama work a while with his position, but we did some little tricks of the trade and finagled him out of there! He weighed 8lbs. 8oz and 21 inches long. Levi was welcomed by his big sister Sunny who stayed up to see him born, and brother Luke, and he’s so very loved! Congratulations Bergen and Jake. :) ps. I think this might be my first three-peat family since I’ve been in my own practice. That’s a fun milestone!

Some fun selfie practices and shirt modeling! 😊
