Did you know that in 1910, you could visit a "Clairvoyant & Palmist" named Madam Eldon in downtown Wilmington? Or that Sol Bear & Co. was advertising Scuppernong wine in the local paper?
While doing family tree research, I started collecting cool old newspaper ads and I figured other locals might like to see them - so I started putting them on tees. Every design is a real ad from a real newspaper , like the Wilmington Morning Star, most over 100 years old.
Stump blasting with Du Pont powder. Corn whiskey by mail order. Chewing gum from Sam'l Bear Sr. & Sons. History is weird and wonderful.
