Heat Warning!

Make a Heat Action Plan with Your Health Care Team

1. Stay Cool
Try one or more of these:
- Stay in the shade
- Cooling aids
- Use a fan
- Use an air conditioner

2. Stay Hydrated

3. Know the Symptoms
There are signs that your body may be getting too hot:
- Sweating a lot
- Very tired and weak
- Dizzy, lightheaded, nauseated
- Call 911 if you have chest pain that is not going away, severe shortness of breath, or confusion. These may be signs your body is already too hot.

4. Check Air Quality
- AQI (use to check air quality)
- Heat Risk (use to determine if it’s too hot)

5. Have a Medication Plan for Hot Weather
Some medications may make it harder for your body to cool down. Some medications may not work well when they get hot.
- Review your medications with your doctor
- Store your medications in a cool place
- Prepare for power outages

Men’s Mental Health Month

June is Men’s Mental Health Month - a time to break the silence, challenge the stigma, and encourage honest conversations around mental well-being for men and boys.

Mental health matters to all of us. But too often, outdated expectations make it harder for men to ask for help. It’s time to change that narrative.

Start the conversation - A simple “How are you-really?” can mean everything.

Lead with empathy - Create space for honesty without judgment.

Challenge the stigma - Normalize vulnerability and emotional expression.

Share support - Make mental health resources easy to find and easier to access.

If you or someone you know needs help, Care Solace is here 24/7/365 to connect you with mental health care or substance use support.

Goose on the Loose!

The Sharon Health Department and Animal Control would like to remind animal owners that animals, such as geese, should be contained to your property. It was reported to Animal Control that the geese pictured above took themselves for a walk this morning.

Loose animals bring safety concerns not only for the animals, but also for the public. The Health Department would also like to remind animal owners that permits can be obtained through the Health Department website, https://ma-sharon.civicplus.com/1295/Permitting.
