Activity: Word Search Race

Story: Some of us exercised our brains this afternoon. We competed to see who could finish a word search first. We decided to stop at 15 minutes and check the to see who found the most words. Judy won with 19 words, but Sandy was close behind with 17! We have a lots of smart cookies!❤️

Activity: Garden Club Meeting

Story: We hosted Shelbyville Garden Club for a luncheon. We enjoyed learning about the Eastern bluebird. They blessed us with a beautiful arrangement, some bingo prizes, and our very own custom bluebird house. ❤️

Activity: Men’s Ride & Popsicles on the Porch with Cassie from Adoration Home Health

Story: Yesterday was a beautiful day, so we made the most of it. Some of our men enjoyed a ride through the countryside checking out gardens and wildlife. We came back and Cassie treated everyone to popsicles on the porch. The sun was shining and the breeze made it feel just right out there. ❤️

We are beyond excited to share our Life Enrichment Coordinator, Lisa Jorgenson won the Wellness Champion of the Year award.
Lisa was chosen out of over 4,000 Americare employees for this honor. The award was presented to Lisa by our president and vice presidents at our annual Caregiver Conference in Missouri.
Lisa goes above and beyond for our residents every day. We are so proud and blessed she calls Celebration Way home.

Activity: Trip Down Memory Lane

Story: We enjoyed a ride around town remembering the way things used to be. We visited “Baker Town”, the Square, Musgrave, and Depot Street just to name a few. It was fun to reminisce about how it used to look and remember the good ole days. ❤️

Happy Nurse’s Day to our Health and Wellness Director, Ben Mullen! To know him is to love him. He is always up for a good time and is our favorite grill master. When asked why he got in to nursing he replied, “I started my nursing career later in my life, but I have always been a caregiver. I took care of my parents through their twilight years and many illnesses. Over my career as a nurse, I have worked in hospitals, nursing home settings, and now at Celebration Way Assisted Living. It’s like going to my grandparents’ house every day I come here, it’s not work. I have found working in geriatrics is my niche. Nursing and caregiving is my calling in life.” 🩺❤️

Story: Fish and several other residents have been getting their vitamin D in today. We love to sit in the sun and enjoy this beautiful weather. ☀️❤️
