Could a blood test identify Alzheimer’s risk years earlier?
Researchers are studying a blood biomarker called p-tau217, which reflects changes associated with amyloid accumulation in the brain. Recent findings suggest that, when combined with neurological evaluation and testing, including Neuroreader, p-tau217 may eventually help identify people at higher risk for cognitive decline before noticeable symptoms begin.
It represents an important shift toward identifying neurological changes earlier—when addressing sleep, exercise, blood pressure, insulin resistance, nutrient status and cognitive stimulation may be especially meaningful. Biomarker testing is interpreted within a complete medical and neurological evaluation. We have been testing this for our patients for over a year now, putting Katallage Wellness as a premier center for addressing early dementia symptoms.
