Summer is the perfect time to explore new foods and create positive experiences around eating. Small moments of exposure can go a long way in building curiosity and confidence with food!
🌿 Have a picnic! Eating outdoors adds fun and novelty to mealtimes and creates a low-pressure environment for exploring new foods.
🍓 Try seasonal fruits and vegetables. Summer produce is often at its peak flavor and easier to find in stores.
🌱 Plant a garden. Watching fruits, vegetables, and herbs grow can spark interest long before they make it to the plate.
🚜 Visit a pick-your-own farm. Harvesting berries or vegetables can help children connect with food in a hands-on way.
🥕 Explore a farmers market or farm stand. Encourage your child to look, touch, smell, and learn about foods they may not see every day.
💧 Stay hydrated! Offer water throughout the day and include water-rich foods like watermelon, cucumbers, oranges, and squash.
Remember: Exposure doesn’t always mean eating. Looking, touching, smelling, and interacting with food are all valuable steps on a child’s feeding journey.

Miss Katie lit up the for two of our PT kiddos during an exciting obstacle course challenge! 🔵🟢🟡🔴

The goal? Stay inside the designated squares, avoid bumping into peers or the moving swing, and visually scan the room to find and tap their assigned color pod.

This fun and engaging activity helps build:

Thank you to Dr. Meryl Baurmash from for an incredible in-service today! 🦷✨

Our team learned so much about the powerful connection between airway health, proper breathing, oral motor function, tongue ties, and orthodontic development. Dr. Baurmash shared valuable insights on airway-focused orthodontics, early intervention, palate expansion, and the importance of identifying signs that may impact a child’s growth, sleep, behavior, and overall development.

One of the biggest takeaways was the importance of collaboration between Speech-Language Pathologists and orthodontists. By working together, we can better support children with oral motor challenges, tongue ties, airway concerns, and functional breathing patterns to help them reach their full potential.

Thank you, Dr. Baurmash, for sharing your expertise and passion with our team. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from you and strengthen the collaborative care we provide to our families! 💙
