There was a time in my life where I vowed I would never share my world of horses with other people. It's interesting to sit back and reflect on.
Horses had always been my safe place; my thriving place. But, several years of working under a highly abusive coach left me in a state of deep mistrust and fear of letting people near me when working with horses. So I decided that the best thing to do was keep my horse world walled off and seperate, a secret haven only I could access.
The horses, as they always do, had other plans.
When I started working with my mentor in 2022 to learn Equine Facilitated Learning, I was equally curious and tentative as to how powerful this work was. I could see and feel how much horses could help others through this modality, but it meant opening up and letting people in.
Part invitation, part gentle shove from the universe, I decided to pursue that path despite the old fears and remain open how it could shift things for others, and for me.
And, I am so glad I did.
Over the years I have witnessed profound changes in people through the EFL work.
Moments of clarity.
Moments of grief.
Moments of recognizing old patterns no longer serving.
Moments of joy at realizing deep, heart-led desires.
Moments of vulnerability.
Moments of peace and safety.
All through being held by the herd; these incredible beings who hold no judgement, no shame, nothing but safe presence and gentle space holding.
And, everytime someone has expressed gratitude towards this offering, another level of healing ripples through my system. A reminder comes forward, that these horses are not to be hidden, they are here to do big work. And they love it, they really truly love it.
Thank you to everyone who has trusted the horses and I on your healing path. And to each of you for supporting my healing too.
If you are curious how the horses can be a support for you, book in using the link in the comments. Whenever you are ready, they are here for you. And so am I.
