Three nurses saw a better way to support new nurses—and transformed orientation across their hospital.
What started as an idea sparked at a nursing conference became an innovative program at Intermountain Health St. Vincent Regional Hospital that helps new nurses build skills, confidence, and independence through a more structured and supportive orientation experience.
Developed by nurses Diane Marion, Allie Bofto, and Nacole Noble, the program has improved readiness, strengthened nurse satisfaction, and enhanced the transition from novice to expert practice.
Their work was also recognized as part of Intermountain St. Vincent Regional Hospital's recent Magnet with Distinction designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center—the highest honor for nursing excellence.
This is what happens when nurses are empowered to lead change from the bedside. https://ow.ly/OcIF50Z6b7K
