While “gender specific groups” have long been considered a “best practice” in the recovery field, few programs capitalize on the power of men changing men as we do at The Last Resort Recovery Center. Here our daily focus is on RECOVERY that supplies a man with meaning and purpose in his life rather than another round of TRADITIONAL TREATMENT that keeps him focused on pathology.

Eric is a seasoned healthcare executive with experience across both integrated healthcare systems and behavioral healthcare systems. With dual master’s degrees in Social Work and Business Administration, he brings a service-leadership approach rooted in community engagement, compassion, and client-centered care.
Eric’s career reflects a deep commitment to the recovery field, beginning as a Behavioral Healthcare Technician and growing into executive leadership roles across outpatient, residential, and acute levels of care.

As Clinical Director, Shawn Parrott, MA, LPC-S, brings over a decade of experience across residential, outpatient, and academic settings, supporting individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

A Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), Shawn specializes in treating mood, anxiety, and personality disorders using evidence-based and holistic approaches, including CBT, existential therapy, spirituality-informed care, and person-centered treatment.

Since 2019, she has played a key role in strengthening The Last Resort’s clinical program while maintaining its relational, family-oriented culture. Her leadership reflects a commitment to high-quality, personalized care grounded in both clinical expertise and meaningful connection.

We understand that not everyone can step away from work, family, or daily responsibilities to attend in-person treatment. That’s why we offer a Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) designed specifically for men in Texas who need structured care, wherever they are.

Through secure video sessions, clients participate in both group and individual therapy led by our experienced clinicians. This program provides the same level of accountability, connection, and comprehensive support as our in-person services, while allowing men to stay engaged in their everyday lives.
