Frances Alice (Chairney) DeMarchi, 82, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, August 24, 2026.
Fran was born in Riverside, California on August 10th, 1944, to the late Louis H. and Alice Ruth (Graham) Chairney. She later moved to Wood River, Illinois and graduated from Roxanna High School.
At age 16, Fran met the love of her life, Carl DeMarchi. Shortly after, they moved to Solvay, NY. On March 6, 1964, their love story was blessed at St. Cecilia Church. Fran started their business, Best Way Beauty Supply, while Carl was working at his beauty salon “Casa DeMarchi”. They eventually made Cortland, NY their home on November 2, 1973. Fran enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and cherished her time in Ocean City, NJ.
Fran possessed a profound wisdom of life. Her greatest joy was found in her eleven grandchildren and great-grandson of whom she so deeply treasured.
Fran was a former president of Piercefield Women's Club, and was a true sports fan, especially of SU basketball.
Fran was predeceased by her parents and brother, Leonard Chairney.
Fran is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Carl L. DeMarchi. Her five children; Mishel (Joseph) Domiter, Lisa (Rod) Masella, Reneé (Christian) Michalkow, Derek (Kelley Wilcox) DeMarchi and Erika DeMarchi, grandchildren; Joseph, Lawrence (Elizabeth), Mason (Alyssa), Anthony, Nathaniel, Doulton, Anastasia, Austin, Adrianna, Leila, Elyse, and great-grandson,...

Kathryn Getty Williams, affectionately known to many as "Sugi," passed away peacefully at her home in Syracuse on August 24, 2026, at the age of 65. She was surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Before her retirement, Kathryn was a talented hairstylist and proud salon owner, bringing beauty and confidence to countless people in her community. Outside of work, she lived life with a vibrant spirit. She had a deep love for traveling, listening to the music of Tom Petty, and, above all else, spending time with her cherished family.
She was reunited in peace with her late parents, James and Jane Getty.
Kathryn's memory will be forever treasured by her family, including three brothers; Bill (Cindy) Dougherty, Scott (Angela) Getty, Mike (Cathy) Getty; sister, Edie Getty and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to her best friend, Paula Sheehan, her niece, Trisha, and the staff at Hospice of CNY for their exceptional care, love, and support during this time.

Phyllis Ann (Romano) Fernandez, of Solvay, passed away on August 31st at the age of 85. She was the daughter of John and Nicolena Romano. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of more than 50 years, Frank “Twerpy” Fernandez.
Phyllis Ann was a stay-at-home mom until her children went to school, then she went to work for her brothers at the Romano Auto Dealerships. After retirement, she and her husband spent several winters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. There was no place she enjoyed more than being at home surrounded by her entire family.
Phyllis Ann is survived by children, Marc (Cathy) Fernandez, Michele Fernandez, and Maria (Kevin) Bigelow; grandchildren, Emily (James) Pelcher, Ethan (Michalena) Bigelow, Elizabeth Fernandez, Jacob Bigelow, and her first great grandchild due in December. She is also survived by brothers, Joseph (Lynne) Romano and Michael (Elena) Romano; seven nieces and nephews, many extended relatives and friends; and her beloved granddog, Coco. The family extends gratitude to the remarkable caregivers at Francis House.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Friday September 4, 2026 at St. Marianne Cope Parish–St. Cecilia Church, 1001 Woods Rd, Solvay. The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave, Syracuse NY 13208.

Antoniette (Lilla) DeJohn, known affectionately as “Netta” or “Toni”, passed away on August 29, 2026 with family at her side. She was 95.
Born in Seneca Falls on August 24, 1931 she was the eldest of six daughters to the late Thomas and Mary (Russo) Lilla. She graduated from Mynderse Academy and then completed her studies at the Saranac Rehabilitation Guild, going on to build a career as an X-ray technician. She grew into a woman defined by her love of family and friends and her steadfast faith. She was truly the most wonderful mother. Everyone that knew her loved her.
Antoniette had many interests. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Cecilia’s Church, a member of Solvay Seniors, VFW Auxiliary and was a Franciscan sister with Assumption Church. She loved being a clown with the Christian volunteer group, Clowning For Joy.
She was predeceased by her parents; sisters Donna and Mary and daughter Carolyn.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years Archie DeJohn; daughters, Therese (Tim) Hill and Catherine (Jim) Aragona; son-in-law, Tommy Moore; sisters, Ann Blaesig, Betty (Jack) Balcome and June (Bart) Spratt; sister-in-law, Joan DeJohn; brother-in-law, Richard (Diane) DeJohn; grandchildren, Jim, Shawn, Rachel, Tess, Hannah and Isaiah; great grandchildren, Jim, Aedan, Jude, Ava, Alianna and Lilly and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

On August 20, 2026, Janet Cabrinha left Syracuse NY to enjoy everlasting life in the community of Heaven. Janet was born on August 31, 1935, in Fort Stockton, Texas. She is survived by her two sons, Michael (Rhonda) of Syracuse, New York, John of Beverly Hills, two granddaughters, Dr. Casey Cabrinha, Josselin Cabrinha and two grandsons, Corey and Jett.
She is predeceased by her two daughters, Carolyn and Annamarie and a son, Vincent.
Janet started a family of four while her husband was in the Air Force at bases in Arkansas and Mississippi. After the service, the family located to the San Francisco Bay Area (San Jose). As her children grew older, Janet became one of the pioneers of a generation of housewives that started to transition into the work world. She owned lighting stores with her husband, worked as a manager at JC Penney, and finished her career as a bilingual Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of California until her 1985 retirement in Santa Rosa. Janet will always be remembered for her stunning beauty highlighted by her soft skin that never wrinkled and a lifetime of devotion to her Family…. and her chicken enchiladas. Her loving heart and soothing smile will be sorely missed.

Michael “Mike” Thomas Rasbeck, age 31, passed away unexpectedly on August 12, 2026. He was born on August 13th, 1994 in Syracuse, New York. Michael grew up in the town of Baldwinsville, NY and eventually met the love of his life, Claire. Mike was an avid F-1 racing fan; Haas, being one of his favorite teams. He also loved playing video games on all platforms, and listening to the bands Disturbed and Five Finger Death Punch as well as Josh & Cody from KRock. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends and especially his dog, Cozmo.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Claire (Winke) Rasbeck; parents, Thomas and Janet (Berry) Rasbeck; and older brother, Chris Rasbeck.
A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held on Friday, August 28th from 4:00-6:00PM at Vineyard Church, 312 Lakeside Rd., Syracuse, NY 13209.

John F. Gosson, 88, of Lakeland, passed away peacefully Thursday August 20, 2026 at Upstate University Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Syracuse to the late James and Mary (Coyne) Gosson and was a proud graduate of Solvay High School and US Air Force Veteran, serving with the 108th in Berlin.
John was the service manager at Val’s Motor’s in Lakeland for more than 50 years. He was a Town of Geddes Councilman for 24 years, past President of the Geddes Vet’s, Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus #4114, Faithful Navigator #4114, a member of the Solvay Tigers AC and Solvay-Geddes Community Youth Center, Solvay Hilltop Club, past Commissioner of Lakeside Fire Department, communicant of St. Marianne Cope Parish-Our Lady of Peace Church and member of its Holy Name Society.
He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, James and Richard, in-laws, Louis Sr and Margaret Valerino and his brother-in-law, Louis Valerino, Jr.

William “Bill” Marascalchi passed away on August 5, 2026, with loving family by his bedside. Bill was born on June 19, 1933, in Solvay NY to the late Antonio and Catterina (Balduzzi) Marascalchi. He graduated from Solvay HS in June 1952. Bill began working as a Pressman at The Syracuse Color Press in Solvay in 1950 and then in 1970, at the Herald Journal/Post Standard until retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Syracuse Printing Pressman & Asst and G.C.I.U. Local Unions. Bill enjoyed spending time with family at his camp, fishing, carpentry, gardening, and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Bill is predeceased by his parents; sisters Constance “Enes” (Joseph) Watkins and Mary (Louis) Frio; brothers, Joseph (Josephine) and Fred (Dorothy); nephew, James Marascalchi and niece Diane Marascalchi Noffey.
He is survived by his niece, Carole Marascalchi, of Camillus; nephews, Daniel (Kathleen) Marascalchi, of Ohio, Joseph (Michele) Marascalchi, of Syracuse, Stephen (Christine) Marascalchi, of Cato; niece, Karen Marascalchi Lynch, of Liverpool, and nephew-in-law, Joseph Noffey, of Liverpool; 10 great nieces/nephews, and several great-great nieces/nephews, & cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Nottingham for their support and special care for Bill during his stay with them.

Edward P. Daniszewski, 78, of Solvay, passed away on August 5th with family by his side. A lifetime resident of Solvay, Edward was employed by Pass & Seymour for more than 30 years. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Edward was predeceased by his parents, Chet and Lucille (Bielinski) Daniszewski, sisters; Gloria LaPoint and Thelma Weber, brothers; Albert and Chet Daniszewski.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gloria (Tompkins) Daniszewski, son; Edward (Robyn) Daniszewski, daughters; Tammy Precourt and Amy (Rodney) Draper, six grandchildren; Bobby, Kaylee, Christopher, Samantha, Krista and Savannah, and three great-grandchildren; Ellie, Ryder and Alora.

JoAnna (Colabufo) Padden, 79, of Lakeland, NY, passed away suddenly on July 31, 2026. She was predeceased by her parents Gennaro and Victoria (Cosentino) Colabufo, son, Christopher Padden, and grandson, Brandon Lambert.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Greg) Lambert; her granddaughter, Isabella Lambert; her brother, Gennaro (Joan) Colabufo Jr; her nieces, Tina (Terry) Byrnes, Victoria (Richard) Rosa, Christie (Peter) Blasioli, and her many adoring great nieces and nephews.
JoAnna was most known for her sense of humor and her generosity. Her fun-loving spirit will continue to be celebrated through the stories and memories she shared with family and friends.
