Dad’s brother, my Uncle John Hollis passed away on May 15th and I can’t imagine life without him. He was a lover, a brother, an uncle and a friend to all. He was magical. So talented, intelligent, hysterical, deeply sentimental and I loved listening to his stories about our ancestors. He lovingly took care of my Grandma V until the day she died. He would NOT send her to a nursing home and her death really took a toll on him…kind of like Frodo bearing the Ring. I hope that V and all my ancestors came for him and brought his spirit home. I hope they’re reunited and in peace. Thank you to my Uncle Patrick, John’s husband, for standing by his side and loving him so deeply. They were supposed to celebrate 25 yrs together in August. You two created such a beautiful life together and you made his heart full. You two really were and forever are the life of the party. May his memory be eternal. I love you ♥️

This week I’ve been soothing my soul by watching his videos, his pictures…listening to Chopin and broadways musicals. This is a video of my Uncle John playing Auld Lang Syne. A song that already brings me to tears, but now it has new meaning and bigger tears.

Thank you Holloway Funeral Home in Florida for taking care of him for us ♥️

“Making up a song about Coraline. She’s a peach, she’s a doll, she’s a pal of mine…” 🥹 He loves the movie Coraline, but we stop it right before the ghost children / all the scary stuff.
